Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

This policy explains what CryptoTalk collects, why, and the choices you have. We try to collect as little as possible.

What we collect

Account data — your username, email, and anything you add to your profile (name, bio, avatar, links). If you sign in with Google, GitHub, or X, we receive your basic profile and email from them.

Content — the threads, replies, messages, and reactions you create.

Technical data — IP address, browser/user-agent, and login timestamps, kept for security and abuse prevention.

How we use it

To run the forum: authenticate you, show your content, deliver notifications and emails (verification, password resets), keep the community safe, and prevent spam and abuse. We do not sell your personal data.

Cookies & sessions

We use cookies to keep you logged in and to secure requests (CSRF). If we add analytics, we'll use them only to understand aggregate usage and improve the product.

Who we share with

Only the service providers we need to operate: our hosting, database, email delivery, and (where applicable) analytics and error-monitoring providers. They process data on our behalf under their own terms. We also share information if required by law.

Retention

We keep your account data while your account is active. Security logs (IPs, login history) are kept for a limited period. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data, though some content may remain in an anonymized form.

Your rights

You can view and edit your data in Settings, control who sees your activity in Privacy settings, and delete your account at any time. To request a copy of your data, contact us.

Security

Passwords are hashed, traffic is encrypted, and access is limited. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and never share your seed phrase or private keys with anyone — including people claiming to be staff.

Children

CryptoTalk is not intended for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes & contact

We'll post any updates to this policy here with a new date. Questions? Reach us via the Contact page.
